Join us for an outdoor photography workshop exploring techniques for improving you photographs of people. We will help you to utilize the settings in your digital camera to produce better exposure, focus, color, quality and composition in your subjects. Natural lighting techniques as del as balancing natural lighting with flash will be demonstrated.
This is an instructor-led workshop that will be held outdoors at JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh, NC. Several models will be available the enable students to learn and practice these techniques.

Overview of exposure modes
White Balance and gray card
Manipulating Depth of Field in portraiture
Controlling motion in portraiture
Natural Light Portrait
Rim lighting portraite (balancing flash with natural light)
Please bring: Camera, charged batteries, camera manual, accessories.
Prerequisite: Digital 101 is suggested but not required.

INSTRUCTOR - VIKI REDDING
Viki Redding is a graduate of Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA and has spent 20 years working as a photographer, motion picture camera assistant, videographer, multimedia designer and digital photography instructor. She currently shoots child and family portraiture in the Triangle Area for the company she owns, Mindful I Photography (www.mindfuli.com). She sees photography as a gift and feels privileged and honored to share that gift through teaching digital photography to others.
