Join us for an exclusive behind-the-lens look at one of the Denver Post's biggest documentary projects of the year:
The Denver Post photojournalism staff takes great pride in covering stories that impact communities across Colorado and will be hosting another great photo night featuring a developing story that does just that. On Tuesday, Feb. 24th, 2015, staff photojournalist Joe Amon and videojournalist Lindsay Pierce will share their recent work from one of The Denver Post's largest investigative reports of 2014, "Desperate Journey," exploring the marijuana-based extract CBD oil. Throughout 2014, Amon and Pierce followed multiple families using CBD oil-based treatments to help their children with seizure disorders, including one family that moved across the country from North Carolina as a last resort to help 12-year-old Preston who suffers from constant seizures. Amon will share his photos from the project and Pierce will host a special screening of her 38-minute documentary on Ana Watson and her son Preston and their journey to Colorado and into the world of medical marijuana. Following the screening Pierce and Amon will be available for a Q&A with the audience. Reserve your tickets now for this special night!
