Documenting the world around you
This course is about getting outside and noticing and capturing compelling people, places and things in the city. We will meet at the south entrance of the National Portrait Gallery (F st and 8th) and wander through Chinatown and onto the National Mall for twilight shots of the monuments. The course will focus on how to photograph strangers, image composition and the best ways to address challenging lighting situations working with available light.
What to bring
Your camera, a charged battery and room on a memory card or a few rolls of film. Each student will be given a notebook with te main concepts from the course, there will be room for notes so bring a pen. You do not need a printed ticket. I recommend bringing water and wearing comfortable walking shoes.

Morgan Loosli Photography
I am an experienced photojournalist, portrait photographer and photography teacher. Raised in Salt Lake City, I learned early to appreciate nature's stunning beauty and I am most at home shooting outside. My best photographs come from capturing my clients in a place they love with the people they love. I have been shooting for twenty years, and teaching people about photography every chance I get.
I have published work in the Stars and Stripes, Salt Lake Tribune, The Deseret News, O Papagaio, and The Daily Universe.
