Philip Wesley

Philip Wesley is a solo piano artist/composer. His most popular album ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ reached #1 on the iTunes charts, the top 100 on Amazon, and is a best seller on CD Baby, all for his genre of music.

Early years – Philip’s interest in the piano didn’’t develop until 1991 when he went to college to study music therapy and was serendipitously introduced to the piano music of other modern piano composers. Philip worked as a board certified music therapist for nearly 10 years while working on his craft of composing piano music and developing his style.

Recording career – Late 2002/early 2003 saw the release of Philip’s first album ‘Finding Solace’. In those early years Philip performed his music exclusively at Borders Books and Music and shopping malls. In 2004 and 2005 he released his next two albums ‘In a Lifetime’ and ‘Comfort and Joy.

Piano Style – Philip dislikes the term ‘New Age’ music (categorized by the music industry) and refers to his piano style as modern/contemporary.

Dark Night of the Soul - Three years after releasing his Christmas album, Philip finally released his 4th album ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ in the fall of 2008. Although it took a couple years before it took off and went completely viral. Dark Night’ was a departure from his first three albums in that it was less ambient, more of a minor key tonality, and more emotionally powerful. Resonating with people all over the world, it has gone on to become his most popular album to date.

Newest works - In 2012 Philip released two new albums. Hope Endures’ (a sister album and sequel to ‘Dark Night’) and his ten year retrospective ‘best of’ album called ‘Heart to Hands. Philip is currently working on composing new material for his next album.

Philip Wesley performs intimate concerts across the US and enjoys meeting his fans. To find out where Philip is performing next, check out his concert calendar.
