Alex de Carvalho, Constant Contact
Alex de Carvalho is Constant Contact’s educational marketing expert and Regional Director for South Florida. Alex has more than 20 years experience in marketing and business development, as a startup entrepreneur, university professor, and author. He has a strong background in small business marketing, social media, and email marketing.
Alex draws from this experience to be a valuable resource to small businesses, nonprofits, and associations in South Florida. Over the past five years, he has educated more than 7,500 businesses nationally and internationally about social media and online marketing. He has presented for a wide range of organizations and events, including the Public Relations Society of America, Florida Direct Marketing Association, South Florida Interactive Marketing Association, Hispanicize, SxSW, Wharton Club, and TEDx.
Prior to joining Constant Contact, Alex co-founded BuzzMed, a worldwide scientific community for physicians. He served as Adjunct Professor at the University of Miami’s School of Communications, where he taught course on social media and co-authored “Securing The Clicks: Network Security in the Age of Social Media,” published by MacGraw-Hill. Previously, Alex directed business development efforts at online media and mobile content companies and co-founded a leading European email marketing provider.
Based in Miami, Florida, Alex has played a key role in uniting South Florida’s tech community by organizing Social Media Club South Florida, BarCamp , Ignite Miami, Social Media Day, The Startup Forum, and Mobile Monday events for South Florida new media professionals. He is also a founding member of RefreshMiami. He holds an MBA from Insead in Fontainebleau, France and is fluent in English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, and Finnish.

Jessica Higgins, Gapingvoid
Jessica Higgins is an expert and published author in the field of Lean Six Sigma, a data driven approach to restructure business operations for efficiency while improving quality, compliance and customer satisfaction. Jessica has used data to scale local businesses in San Bernardino County, California, creating 1,924 jobs over six months; built the business process management structures for Burger King Corporation, revised the model for food service delivery throughout public hospitals in the US (via Compass Foods); and has improved patient satisfaction, reduced hospital stays and improved patient outcomes in some of the largest public hospitals in the United States.
In early 2013, Jessica founded her own consulting firm with the vision to scale local businesses in order to grow the Miami community and retain talent. She has since partnered with Gapingvoid, a local Miami business with global reach, to develop internal culture, improved communications and execute strategic initiatives for companies including eBay, Microsoft, VMware and many others. Jessica maintains her non-profit, JH Global Consultants, where she continues to mentor local Miami companies, from startup to midsize.
Jessica has a Juris Doctor in Law and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Miami, a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, and Bachelors of Arts in Psychology, Spanish and Political Science from the University of Texas.

Natalia Martinez, Roots of Hope
Born in Cuba, Natalia has experience in Mexico, Russia, South Africa, China, France, and Switzerland. Her professional trajectory includes work in strategy, human capital management, technology, and change management. Her background also includes experiences in public relations, advertising, advocacy, and journalism. She holds a B.A in Psychology and Government from Harvard University and an M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University.
She currently serves as the Chief Innovation & Technology for Roots of Hope, a nonprofit network that works to empower youth in Cuba though technological and entrepreneurial support. She is also the Co-Founder of Awesome Foundation MIAMI, a group of young professionals committed to engaging the community by awarding $1,000 grants to ideas that impact the Greater Miami Area. Most recently, she was involved in the launch of Creative Mornings in our city and has collaborated closely with the World Economic Forum to establish a Global Shapers hub in Miami. In her spare time, Natalia enjoys running, cooking, and photography.

Ouali Benmeziane, WebCongress
Ouali is the Founder & CEO of WebCongress, a global conference on online marketing and digital trends that has achieved success and recognition in Europe, USA and LATAM. Trained at the business school IFAG in Paris, Ouali has been offering training and digital marketing consulting for small and large businesses during the past 7 years. He is also professor in various Digital Masters Programs and a frequent speaker at technology events globally. John Knight, The Children's Movement of Florida
Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, John graduated from Miami University with a B.S. in Management and Organizations. He relocated to Florida to work for The Children’s Movement of Florida as an organizer early on in The Children’s Project of Palm Beach, a one-month pilot that would pave the way for The Children’s Movement of Florida. Shortly after, John became the regional coordinator for Miami-Dade, and was responsible for bringing together more than 1,700 supporters – the largest “Milk Party” rally in the state — despite the downpour from Tropical Storm Julia. From October 2010 – December 2011, he served as the South Florida regional coordinator, coordinating regional committees in five different communities.
John is currently working with 10 United Ways around the state to define and deliver an early literacy initiative called ReadingPals. He is also managing social media for The Children's Movement on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, and recently launched the campaign #LessonsFromAKid. In addition to business, John has been actively involved in music for the last decade in numerous bands. He spends his spare time working on his solo album, where he sings and plays the drums, guitar, bass, piano, and viola.

Estrellita Sibila, PhilanthroFest / Estrellita Sibila, PA
Estrellita S. Sibila recognizes the importance of creating a sustainable South Florida community. She is a land use and zoning attorney with the law firm of Estrellita Sibila, PA and serves as the Executive Director of PhilanthroFest. Estrellita is a recognized community leader, speaker, author, fundraiser and issue advocate who has served in leadership capacities with various South Florida organizations such as United Way of Miami Dade, Chapman Partnership, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Lawyers Credit Union, University Credit Union, and the Miami Green Commission.
A proud graduate and outstanding alumna of the University of Miami (BS ’01, JD ’04, L.L.M.P. 05’), Estrellita strives to build a better South Florida by creating opportunities for civic engagement, philanthropy and community investment. Estrellita is a Class VI graduate of the Miami Fellows Initiative of the Miami Foundation, a Class XXX graduate of Leadership Miami and the recipient of numerous awards for her contributions in the fields of real estate law and sustainable land development.
