This session is the second phase of training for all volunteers at the AHS Mansell Campus. It only covers the mentoring for CATS. There are other sessions covering handling dogs and volunteering at the greeter desk. Registration for this session is only open to volunteers who have completed the first orientation training session.
This 2 hour session will include training in handling CATS, computer sign-in, scheduling and registration in our Biometrics system. This session will allow you to become an active volunteer.
Clothing should be casual and comfortable. You CANNOT wear open-toed shoes, and will not be able to participate in the session if you do.
While there is no fee to register for volunteer training. We do require a $25 donation at the time of training to cover the costs of volunteer supplies (t-shirt, apron, leash), unless paid already at the orientation meeting. We can accept check or cash in that amount during this session. We are not able to take credit cards.

When & Where
Atlanta Humane Society
The mission of the Atlanta Humane Society is to improve animal welfare in the southeastern United States by providing quality animal services including preventative initiatives, education, advocacy and adoption of animals into permanent loving homes.
The Atlanta Humane Society places approximately 8,000 animals into forever homes each year. AHS is committed to finding homes for all adoptable pets. We do not euthanize adoptable animals, and there are no time limits for the animals once they are in our care. We only humanely euthanize those animals suffering from significant medical issues or that pose behavior concerns. We are proud to be a part of the solution to ending pet homelessness and overpopulation in the Southeast United States.
