Presented by TCC Members
The Brill Building, located at 1619 Broadway at 49th Street, is well known for housing music industry offices where some of the most famous American pop songs were written. Songs like "Up On The Roof," "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'," "River Deep - Mountain High, were created in the fifties and sixties at the Brill Building. A uniquely talented group of Jewish songwriters fused R&B, Latin music, Broadway, and Tin Pan Alley into an original sound that changed the face of music forever.
In this program, TCC members will perform songs written by Goffin & King, Bacharach & David, Leiber & Stoller, Mann & Weil, Greenwich & Barry, Pomus & Shuman, and more. Jack Lechner will review the history of the songs and the era. Louise Moed will provide piano accompaniment. Come enjoy this wonderful music!
All are welcome at this free event.
