Penn State Crew - Family Weekend 2017

Hello Parents and Family,

We are excited to announce the second Penn State Crew Family Weekend! We would love as many of you as possible to come up to Penn State, see your child, and experience what the Crew Team is all about. Family members and rowers who purhcase tickets are welcome to attend both events listed below! The schedule for the day will be as follows:

10:00 am - 1:00 pm We will meet at Bald Eagle State Park and get to experience a match race against West Point and Bucknell. A barbecue lunch will be provided as well! All rowers will be at the practice.

7:30 pm - 10:00 pm The Penn State Crew team will be hosting a catered dinner for all family members and rowers who purchased a ticket. This is a nice catered event that will include speeches, raffles, and auctions. The menu is to be determined, but we promise it will be delicious! This event will be held at the Days Inn Hotel in downtown State College

This is also the same day as the Penn State Blue/White spring trainign game! The game starts at 3:00 pm, so you will have time to attend both crew events and the game if you wish. State College will be bustling with parents and alumni, so don't miss out.

We would love for parents to be more involved with our team, so please mark your calendars and buy your tickets as soon as possible for the fun-filled day that we have planned!

Event FAQs

Do I need to buy my tickets in advance of the event?

Yes! If you want to attend you must buy your ticket before the deadline.

Do I need to bring my ticket to the event?

No you do not have to. It is highly encouraged that you do so we can speed up the check-in process, but we will have a list of the people who purchased tickets.

Can a rower buy their own ticket?

Yes! This year everyone on the team is invited even if their parents can not attend.

Will alcohol be served at this event?

No. As a Club Sport we must abide by Penn State's student organization regulations, which prohibit us from holding any team sponsored event that includes alcoholic beverages.

Who do I contact if I have any questions about the event?

We are here to help! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please send them to our Parents group email, pennstatecrewparents@gmail.com and one of our lovely Officer Board members will respond as quickly as possible.

What should I wear to the lake and the dinner?

At the lake you will want to be prepared for the weather! The regatta will be rain or shine so be ready for anything (like the high winds we had last year). For dinner, business casual attire is recommended.
