The Pawsey Supercomputing Centre Open Day will be held on Saturday 18 August 2018, as part of National Science Week. The Open Day is a great opportunity to meet with Pawsey experts and discover what goes on behind the scenes about BIG SCIENCE in Australia.

This event will bring together researchers, industry representatives, students and the general public to learn all about supercomputers, their history, the benefits they can bring to society and the outcomes that Pawsey systems are delivering to help Australian growth and advancement.

Program highlights include:

A family-friendly event which includes tours through the centre, activities, a sausage sizzle and children's face painting.

There will be presentations from researchers to provide more of an understanding of radio astronomy, medical sciences and other fields of research. You will also be able to find out more about the history of supercomputers.

You will be able to take a tour of the exhibition space at the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre and hear all the amazing stories resulting from the use of Pawsey systems and contemplate Magnus, one of the fastest supercomputers in the Southern Hemisphere through the viewing screen and take selfies. For visitors over 12 years of age, you will be able to participate in a tour of the 'white space' where the supercomputers themselves are located.

Free parking will be available at the ARRC carparks, at 26 Dick Perry Avenue.

As spaces are limited, please book a tour so that you will be able to gain access to the world of Big Science and Supercomputing. Please see below for the booking form.
