The Soldiers Project is proud to announce our 4th National Conference to take place from Friday, October 4, 2013 through Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Four Points by Sheraton LAX located at 9750 Airport Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90045.  Save $50 on your conference registration by registering before September 1. Hotel rooms are available at the Four Points by Sheraton LAX for $115 per night plus tax. This conference will focus on the challenges facing us as our troops return home. We are offering a series of workshops and panels which will address these issues. This conference will enhance clinical practice by deepening an understanding of these psychological and practical issues.

This year’s conference features keynote speaker Paul Rieckhoff, Founder and CEO of Iraq Afghanistan Veterans of America.

Workshops have been designed for clinicians, military service members and their loved ones, veterans, students, and those who provide services and support for our veteran population. The general public is invited.

The conference will open with a Friday night reception featuring art by veterans including: Thomas Dang (http://www.dangthomas.com), Drew Cameron (http://www.combatpaper.org), Phill Schladweiler (http://theshrapnelproject.net) and Ehren Tool (http://inthemake.com/ehren-tool/). Arlington West (http://www.arlingtonwestsantamonica.org) will be showing photos taken at their memorial at Santa Monica beach.

The 2013 Conference fulfills the complete training requirement for all new Volunteer Therapists at The Soldiers Project.  Please see our website for application and further details.

The Conference is co-sponsored by [Stand] InBalance which is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.  InBalance maintains responsibility for this program and its content.  

LMFTs and LCSWs: This course meets the requirements for up to 8 hours of continuing education as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (Provider #PCE 4605).
