San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Saturday, December 7 from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 11 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m., and Saturday, December 14 from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.
You asked (or facebook messaged), and we listened! Since this dazzling robe was the subject of envy and awe on our facebook page, we've been working with its creator, Mary Green, to offer others the chance to lounge in style!
Those with some sewing experience are invited to join Mary in using scraps and new fabrics alike to make patchwork robes that beg to be worn in public! Students need to be familiar with machine-sewing techniques. Experience following a commercial pattern would be helpful but is not required. Participants will learn how to cut on the grain, read a commercial pattern, make button holes (if button tabs are desired), and piece fabrics together for a patchwork look.
The robe can be made according to short, medium, and long specifications, and the pattern covers sizes XS to XXL.
Depending upon length and size, students will need to purchase or provide up to 4.5 yards of fabric. Scraps and fat quarters can be pieced together to achieve this quantity. Students will also need the pattern (about $15), 2 buttons (optional), and thread. A 10% discount is applied to all supplies purchased at Sew Memphis.
Bring your own machine or sign up early to reserve one of four shop machines.
