So what exactly is Party at Picnic Creek? Last year I offered a bbq to the folks driving cross-country (#SuperChargingAcrossAmerica on twitter) for TMC Connect & it just kind of grew from there with both local EV enthusiasts, TMC forum members, and TMC Connect attendees all showing up.

Casual atmosphere - you'll be outside & it can get hot here, so dress appropriately. Games will be set up, drones will be flying, parking lot full of EVs, there is a new labyrinth on the property, live music, swimming, hot tub (party sized), and will be outdoor movie watching later in the evening . (Note that I had to put an end time for the event on the invite, but last year we went til about midnight or so...).

Some FAQs:

Q: Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
A: Yes. Just let me know.

Q: What is the refund policy?
A: Happy to give a full refund up to one week before the event. After that, I've committed to the caterer for a certain number of attendees & there are no refunds.

Q: What should I bring?

• Sunscreen, bug spray, hat (sun is hot here in July)
• Towel & suit if you want to use the hot tub and/or pool
• If you're local, please bring chairs.
• Plenty of food will be here, but if you have a speciality & are local, please consider bringing to share.
• If you have any good EV-related prizes to donate, let me know.

Q: Are my dogs welcome?

A: Yes, but you're responsible for making sure they don't bother anyone. (They won't bother me.) I live on three fenced acres, but the gate will be open (meaning they can escape). I do have a fenced kennel behind the house, about 10' x 20', but they probably won't be happy about that arrangement. There is a pond and a couple of creeks, so it's pretty much 'dog heaven'. They'll have fun.

Q: How will I charge my car?
(Model S) Tesla Rocklin is approximately 5 miles, the Folsom Supercharger is approximately 13 miles from my house, and the Roseville Supercharger is approximately 7 miles from my house.

Q: Parking - what's the arrangement?
A: A neighbor has volunteered their field for parking again this year. I'll ask one of you to help with parking cars so that we maximize available space.

Q: How far are you from the TMC Connect event?
A: I am approximately 130 miles from TMC Connect. The Vacaville supercharger is along the route, so even if you leave TMC Connect low on charge, you can stop in Vacaville.

Q: Is there a local hotel you recommend?
A: I am again setting up discounted rate again at the Larkspur Landing in Roseville. (High marks from everyone who stayed there last year.) They are very close to the Roseville supercharger. Please stay tuned and I'll post the discount code as soon as it is in their system.

Q: Why is there a charge this year?
A: Love you guys, but last year was hit & miss on the donations. I'd like to keep doing this event, so I'm using this online service to collect. This will also help with pre-producing name badges.

Q: Who can attend?
Families are welcome, plenty of places for kids to explore on the property. If you're an EV-owner or enthusiast, you'll find plenty of like minded people here!
