Join us make traditional Christmas lanterns! This year will be our second year running and is proudly funded by Westminster Partnership. In the Filipino language, a Christmas lantern is called a 'parol'. There is no greater symbol of the Filipino Christmas spirit than the parol. It is our Christmas tree. All through the Christmas season, star-shaped lanterns can be found hanging outside homes and along the streets of cities and small provincial towns, farms and fishing villages. For Filipinos, making a parol, decorating one and lighting a parol is an expression of shared faith and hope. We would like to share this beautiful art with everyone this Christmas. You can slao enter your parol to the 'Share Hope Outreach Parol Competition'. The winning Parol will be displayed at SW1 Gallery in Victoria (see more info here!)
