PARENT ENGAGEMENT: Young Women’s Leadership School of the Bronx
Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM (EST)
This event is part of our Parent Engagement Series. Engaging parents and community members effectively in schools is both complex and vital to the success of the students in the system. Join us as we explore four NYC public schools who have worked hard to ensure that they are successful in engaging their families and communities as partners in their schools.
Young Women's Leadership provides a single-sex educational choice for predominantly low-income students who will be the first in their families to attend college. The result is an academically rigorous program fused with strong social-emotional support that forms the basis of TYWLS’ “whole girl” approach to education. At TYWLS’, they believe parental involvement is a key component of a successful education and encourage parents to volunteer at the school and take part in their child's education.
