Raising children is both amazing and challenging. Take some time for yourself and have fun while you learn new information on parent-child attachment, emotion, discipline, and healing in the family. This training teaches a unique approach to parenting which brings together the science of emotional development, attachment, and neurobiology with practical ways to nurture healthy growth, decrease destructive patterns, and increase positive family connection. The class material will span all ages of childhood with particular focus on ages 0-12 years. (Although there are no CE certificates for this class, signed receipts can be used as proof of attendance.)
Morning 8:00am - 12:00pm:
The Heart of Parenting: Emotional and Social Development informed by Neurobiological Science

Come all day for a fun and active learning experience! If time is limited, join us for the morning or afternoon.
Parking, coffee, and light snacks are included in your fees. If you are staying during the lunch break, there is a high quality and affordable cafeteria just outside of the class room.
We will meet at the lovely and comfortable Balcones Room in the Commons Learning Center with windows to the courtyard and atrium. Please bring your paper or mobile ticket to the training. Seating is limited, so register early.

Kathy Scherer, PhD & Elizabeth Sylvester, PhD
Drs. Sylvester and Scherer are practicing Psychologists with many years of experience teaching on the topics of attachment, interpersonal neurobiology, and behavioral approaches to parenting. They have presented to audiences of mental health workers, child development professionals, parents and care-givers. These trainings at the University level and at state wide conferences have been well attended with highly positive ratings on participant evaluations.
They have worked in clinical and educational settings for over 25 years offering training, supervision, and psychological services to individuals and families.
