What: Vanilla is anything but "plain." Learn how this exotic flavoring became a staple in dessert culture. Learn about the history of vanilla, the differnt varieties, how it's cultivated and how different growing regions have a big impact on flavor. We will take an indepth look at this overlooked component to our favorite desserts. The guided tasting will include 4 differnt vanillas from Tahiti, Madagascar, Uganda and Mexico. You will be amazed at the differences!
The vehicle for this tasting will be Smitten's ultra smooth ice cream made with liquid nitrogen in front of our eyes, as well as vanilla bean shortbread cookies.
