Panel discussion: “Perspectives Against Academic Boycotts”

“Perspectives Against Academic Boycotts” features MLA members who oppose a draft MLA resolution condemning Israel's alleged "arbitrary denials of entry to Gaza and the West Bank by U. S. academics.”
The ICC sponsored panel will provide a forum at which alternative views to the MLA-sponsored panel may be presented and discussed. The panel is not sponsored by MLA and is hosted by the alternative panel participants, with funding assistance from ICC and Hillel.
Panelists for this alternative discussion include:
- Cary Nelson, MLA member, professor at the University of Illinois and past-president of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP);
- Russell Berman, MLA member, professor at Stanford University and past-president of MLA;
- Gabriel Brahm, MLA member and professor at Northern Michigan University ;
- Ilan Troen, Director of the Schusterman Center for Israel Studies at Brandeis University and professor at Ben-Gurion University.
