Parents of Accelerated Learners, NYC [PALNYC] is pleased to present the PALNYC Workshop Series, Spring 2014 Season. Our signature workshops are back including Navigating NYC's G&T Options with an inside look at the programs that best accommodate advanced learners, and Supporting Your Child's Gifts & Talents All Summer Long, offering practical ways to prevent summer learning loss just in time for Summer break.

In addition to our signature workshops, PALNYC is proud to partner with local community organizations including The Courant Institute's Center for Mathematical Talent (CMT) at New York University for Beyond Flashcards: Exploring Mathematics with Children, a 4-Part Math Series for educators and parents. This FREE series of hands-on workshops meets monthly to introduce an approach to working with children that builds their skill at thinking mathematically. Aimed at supporting elementary school children in third through sixth grade, they'll explore simple arithmetic, commercial games, and readily available materials to encourage children to ask questions, develop strategies, and make discoveries the way a mathematician would. And stay tuned as details unfold for more events including The Speyer Legacy School's Speyer Speaker Seriesdesigned to bring together educators, community leaders, and policy-makers. The Series intends to generate new perspectives on the critical role metacognition plays in preparing learners of extraordinary potential for future leadership.

The Parents of Accelerated Learners, NYC [PALNYC] mission is to collaborate with educational organizations and experts to help parents support the cognitive, social and emotional needs of their children. Our offering of support includes educational workshops for parents and teachers, talent development-based resources and programs, mentorships and networking opportunities and a discovery platform for web and app-based learning tools for kids.  

PALNYC is particularly passionate about closing the education gap in NYC by working with local outreach organizations to ensure that every parent has the resources to pursue quality education for their child.

PALNYC is the founder of the NYC Gifted & Talented Symposium, a one-day event to support parents and high potential youth.
