10 AM - 4 PM 10 S Glebe Rd. Arlington, VA 22204 Volunteers will have the opportunity to experience the donation process firsthand alongside Goodwill associates during our busiest season of the year. Volunteers will help receive and process donations to be sold in retail stores. Donation processing includes sorting items, evaluating quality, pricing items, and testing electronics. By the end of the day you will have a greater understanding of how Goodwill transforms used-goods from a generous donation to a tool that helps people on the path to self-sufficiency. Habitat for Humanity
8:30 AM - 3:30 PM 56th Place, NE Washington, DC Volunteers will help to rebuild a home in NE DC for an elderly couple. Additionally, Turner is donating $5,000 to help with supplies and project management. • 56th Place NE - In the spring of 2013, DC Habitat broke ground on six new single-family homes at 56th Place and Clay Place in the Deanwood community of NE DC. This new development site is near to the previously completed 54-unit development in the same neighborhood. These 3-bedroom, 1.5 bath homes will each feature 1-car garages and 1,260 square feet of living space. Three of these homes are part of the Homes For Vets initiative, which seeks to increase veteran homeowner ship in the nation’s capital. Barnard Elementary Holiday Puppet Show
9:30 AM - 11:30 AM Barnard Elementary School - 430 Decatur Street, NW Washington, DC Volunteers will assist with a Puppet Show for the students of Barnard Elementary School for 400 preK- 2nd grade students. The Good Life Theater Company will be presenting “Crooning with the Critters” a musical trip through parts of the animal kingdom from the farm to the ocean and all the way to Africa. Holiday songs are accompanied live on guitar and mandolin. Holiday goodies and prizes will be provided to the students. Project Ornament Ice Skating
2:30 PM - 4: 00 PM Kettler Capitals Iceplex 627 N. Glebe Road, Suite 800, Arlington, VA 22203 Volunteers will sponsor homeless children (ages infant to 15 years old) for their holiday gifts and take them for a day of ice skating & to receive their gifts. Turner volunteers will be emailed an electronic ornament with the wish list of a child. The volunteers are requested to purchase a couple of items from the child’s wish list. Sponsored children are from the Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless (AACH), Arlington Street People Assistance Network (ASPAN), Covenant House. Sibley Hospital - Grand Oaks
Volunteers will help on two projects at The Oasis Neighborhood of Grand Oaks. Oasis is a care center within Grand Oaks Assisted Living dedicated to the care and treatment of patients with Alzheimer’s Disease and other memory-related disorders. The facility is currently working on minor renovations to create a more homelike and less clinical environment. One project will be to remove old wallpaper from a room and prep the walls for new finishes. The other project will be to install new sub-floor and flooring in a sitting room that was previously an exterior patio and has since been enclosed but still has concrete pavers. Event Details

Now in its fifth year, Paint the Town Blue is an annual holiday volunteer project started by Turner’s Cincinnati office and now is done in Turner offices across the country.  Each year, projects are identified by local charitable organizations and Turner recruits its own employees for teams assigned to complete these tasks over a one-day period.
