Event Details

The David and Lucile Packard Foundation cordially invites you to attend an Open House to celebrate our first year of operating our new headquarters at net zero energy. Our office building is one of the largest and one of very few world-wide that has achieved both net zero energy operation and LEED platinum designation.

For nearly 50 years, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation has supported organizations and leaders working to protect and restore ecosystems for a world where all families can plan for their children, and all children reach their potential. We are proud of the example and success of our 343 Second Street building and hope to inspire others in building the possibility of a better future.  We want to celebrate this achievement with the Los Altos community and the many individuals and organizations who helped us break new ground in sustainable design.

We would like you to join us for this afternoon event featuring food, drink, and tours, with a toast from our Board Chair and brief remarks from our President and CEO at 5pm.

Organizer

The David and Lucile Packard Foundation

The David and Lucile Packard Foundation is a family foundation. We are guided by the enduring business philosophy and personal values of Lucile and David, who helped found one of the world’s leading technology companies. Today, their children and grandchildren continue to help guide the work of the Foundation.

Their approach to business and community participation has guided our philanthropy for nearly 50 years: We invest in effective organizations and leaders, collaborate with them to identify strategic solutions, and support them over time to reach our common goals.

We work on the issues our founders cared about most:

  • Improving the lives of children
  • Enabling the creative pursuit of science
  • Advancing reproductive health
  • Conserving and restoring the earth's natural systems
