About the Session Leader:
Daniel Friedland, a partner at Orrick, is the leader of the firm's Emerging Companies Group in Southern California. The group advises companies at all stages of development, as well as venture capital firms and investment banks.
Mr. Friedland specializes in working closely with founders, executive officers and venture capitalists on the formation, financing and ongoing operation of technology, consumer/retail, media and other businesses. Mr. Friedland has significant experience in venture capital financings, private equity, public offerings, mergers & acquisitions and licensing transactions.
Mr. Friedland was Yammer’s primary attorney on all legal matters, beginning with its incorporation and culminating in its sale to Microsoft for $1.2 billion. This acquisition was the largest private technology company acquisition in the United States for 2012.
