Fall Florida, 2009— The Owners / Chefs of Be Organic LLC are proud to announce the kick off of their 1st annual, Organic Takeover “Peddling for Better Health” Bicycle Tour, beginning September 2, 2009.  During the tour, Be Organic will coordinate Free daily on-site organic lifestyle demos.  These demos will introduce organic lifestyle options to communities around Florida.

“The purpose of the Organic Takeover tour is to bring organic lifestyles to everyday people” says co-founder Kirk Nelson.

Chad Cherry, Roosevelt Desir, Kirk Nelson, and Andre Walker the founders of Be Organic, will bike over 2,000 miles maintaining an average of 40 miles a day, over 40 days.  Potential Takeover locations include but are not limited to universities, churches, fire houses, town halls, and farmers markets.

We are systematically conditioned to put work before our well being, with a corporate structure that places priority on output with little or no regard for employee’s health. “You can’t sit behind a desk from 9-5 then sit in front of the TV from 6-10 and expect your body to be healthy” says co-founder Roosevelt Desir

“We are doing this to help people win the war against diseases like cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol”, says co-founder Chad Cherry.

Examples of these ailments are found in communities with higher poverty rates that have trouble accessing affordable health care and preventative measures.   But these conditions are not isolated in these communities.  The good news is that most of these diseases can be prevented or improved with the implementation of healthier choices through organic lifestyles.  This places Be Organic in the perfect position to achieve positive change through education on how to live organic. We will do this in a way that is fun, convenient, and affordable to ensure that people can apply our methods to better their lives.

“What really makes this whole thing work is the fact that we can relate to the community and they can relate to us” says co founder Andre Walker.  “We will use this connection to empower our message, to make it real, to make it tangible, to plant seeds that will help communities for generations”.

The quest to help others comes from personal struggles shared by three of the founding members who currently battle health issues.  Roosevelt Desir is in remission for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Chad Cherry, and Andre Walker have adopted life-altering changes to live with diabetes.  In both instances, the common thread in their illness was the food they consumed and the life style they lived.  While experimenting, the chefs began to learn the benefits of eating organic food.  They structured unique food regimens and physical activities, and incorporated them into their lives and noticed an impact on their health
