OpenSocial Enterprise Interop
Thursday, November 4, 2010 from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (PDT)
Palo Alto, CA
The Enterprise OpenSocial workgroup is hosting it's first interop event. Details can be found on the OpenSocial wiki. This is a hands on working session. If you come, make sure you are ready to get dirty. Space is limited, so please plan accordingly and wear the appropriate clothes.
Please RSVP only if you are attending in person. We are still figuring out remote options and these details will be on the wiki.
The objective of the Enterprise OpenSocial Interop is to begin to demonstrate the portability of applications, and information, across the different enterprise containers. Because this is the first interop event oriented towards the enterprise, the objectives are to establish a foundation that the community can build upon. However, there are some specific goals that we will attempt to achieve:
- Demonstrate the portability of Social Web applications
- Integrate components from different vendors within the same mashup
- Integrate components, via events, within the same mashup
- Demonstrate interoperbility via REST
- We have an advanced goal of identity mapping for cross site aggregation
Further, it is important that we strive to advance the community and strengthen the ecosystem behind building OpenSocial applications for the Enterprise. Therefore, we will also begin to define and establish set of best practices for developing portable social applications.
Thank you in advance to SAP for hosting this working session.
