OpenGov Camp, an unconference about tools for change
Sunday, June 5, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (EDT)
New York, NY
OpenGov Camp is a one day conversation on how participation builds transparency to deliver efficiency. We are a community of doers and decision-makers talking about what works—and what doesn't. Whether you are a developer, journalist, activist, organizer or government employee, you should attend.
BetaNYC is a 21st century civic organization that envisions a New York City powered by the people, for the people, for the 21st century.
We are a not-for-profit organization that uses advocacy, data, and curriculum to improve municipal governance and empower individuals to make an impact.
* We demystify government policies and practices, and work to improve policy.
* We empower individuals and organizations with usable government information and data.
* We explore the future by building government technology prototypes for elected officials, their staff, community councils, the general government worker, and the average individual.
BetaNYC advocates for a participatory permaculture where open data, community empowerment, participatory government, and education coexist in advance of each other.
