Join us for an exciting open source meetup in Richmond for Python programmers and those interested in Python!! This event is hosted by Capital TechSearch. We promise that this will be a fun way to meet others, learn more and expand your network.

 

Here are the details:

Date: Saturday, October 29th 2011
Venue: 6802 Paragon Place, Richmond VA
Time: 10AM to 2PM **Lunch will be provided

**Please bring a laptop. This will be an interactive meetup!**

Speakers:
Our speakers are active members of Charlottesville's Python user group, PyCHO.  Speakers are set for 40 minutes and this time includes Q&A.  See their BIOs below. 

Thibaud Morel l'Horset
Thibaud (also called "Teebes") focuses on web frameworks and JavaScript, has a long history working with Django, and has his own fork of the Piston project.  Today he builds large-scale RESTful APIs for mobile at WillowTree Apps, a custom mobile development shop.

Topic: Introduction to RESTful APIs using Python/Django/Piston
 
Ron DuPlain
Ron has worked on projects across hardware and software, and is an active contributor to Python's Flask web framework.  Today he develops on Android at both the OS and app levels, and for the web using a variety of stacks centered on Flask, SQLAlchemy, and jQuery.  Ron is PyCHO's organizer.

Daniel Lepage
Dan gave PyCHO's most popular talk on scientific computing, touring image manipulation, graphing/plotting, and high-performance extensions for CPUs and GPUs, including nVidia's CUDA. He spent the summer working at Google, is a graduate from the graphics group at the University of Virginia, and today works on flexible form support for Private Practice, a web product offering electronic charting for midwives.
