Greetings, fellow GreenDrinkers!
DATE CORRECTION: NEXT Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 6 p.m.
This year's mid-summer treat is being served by The Nature Conservancy, the group that works and plays in that hallmark "green" building downtown at 620 E. Ohio. Your access to FREE parking, a tour, education, networking, and a generous spread begins at 6:00 p.m. Please join us… and bring a friend!
The Efroymson Conservation Center is home to, and owned by, the Indiana Chapter of The Nature Conservancy. The Nature Conservancy is the world’s largest non-profit conservation organization, operating in all 50 states and over 30 countries. Its mission is to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends. In Indiana alone, the Conservancy has helped protect nearly 80,000 acres of land for future generations to enjoy and depend upon.
State Director, Mary McConnell, will highlight the Conservancy’s work throughout Indiana and the state of the art building that is helping make it possible. Completed in spring of 2010, the Efroymson Conservation Center is the first building in Indianapolis to be awarded LEED Platinum for its sustainable design and construction. A tour of the building will allow visitors to see two green roofs, a rainwater collection system, vertical axis wind turbines and a sustainable story around every corner.
Please RSVP so we have a count, but there is no need to print out tickets. Green Drinks Indy holds reqular monthly meetings normally on the second Tuesday of each month.
