Here’s the truth… we all want to play. It’s a deep part of who we are. In fact, according to Stuart Brown's research, play is not just joyful and energizing — it's deeply involved with human development and intelligence. Steven Kotler, flow expert and author of “The Rise of Superman: Decoding the Science of Ultimate Human Performance,” explores the state of consciousness known as "flow", an optimal state in which humans perform and feel their best. The book explains how extreme athletes are accelerating their flow states to perform better and how people can use the same tactics to accelerate performance in everyday tasks. This is the state we crave, the state we fear, the state where we viscerally know who we are and what we are capable of. It’s where we blow our own minds. The way we use play doesn’t mean playing board games throughout your day. Playing, as we know it is about seeing games that pop up into your life – having fun with the everyday things that occur. Play is available to you throughout all aspects of your life, and we learn play via the tenets of OM (Orgasmic Meditation). Yes, you heard that correctly, you experience the tenets of OM through learning to play.
Learn the importance of play. Learn to design and build experiences of play for others... Begin to look at life through the lens of an infinite player. Life with play... you’ll never stop having fun.
P.S. Did you know there are two types of games?
The Play Course - Taught by OneTaste Senior Faculty, Rachel Cherwitz.
Rachel Cherwitz is ignition. Fire. She is that feeling of electricity coursing through your body. The kind that makes your body hot. You feel her before you see her. In her presence you’re smarter, faster, and stronger. More potent. People who learn to keep up with Rachel wake up. Keep up, that is, meaning you play with her. Not for her, not against her. Not by withholding, not by force. By being willing to place your finger, or your attention, right on the spot of connection between the two of you.
The heat of her attention will challenge you.
She’s an extreme sport.
