One Night Only> Heather Gold in Portland: Post-Snark Comedy + Pie!
Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 8:00 PM to 9:15 PM (PDT)
A lot of comedy today is like a Snickers bar: a sugar rush of empty calories. Internationally touring comic Heather Gold (SF Sketchfest, NPR, CBC, SXSW, Gotham Comedy Club) brings her lightening-fast wit and heart-provoking stories to Portland for one-night only in this intimate living room show. Heather is delighted to perform in a city of foodies, geeks and freaks to serve up a substantive meal of laughs.
Fresh from headlining OUT/LOUD in Eugene, Heather has baked over 50,000 cookies in her smash hit "I Look Like An Egg, But I Identify As A Cookie," which ran over a year in her old home of San Francisco, workshopped at NYC's Ars Nova Theatre and won Best of the Bay and Curve's National Lesbian Theatre Award. Heather won the award again with Jen Kober (Treme) for their show The C Word.
Heather has hosted Austin Gay Pride, written for Alan Cumming, shared the stage with comics like Margaret Cho and Judy Gold and credits her geek time at Apple and in start-up culture with the inspiration for her unique interactive style that lets her bring the best out of the "audience" in the show and helps people meet each other.
