All UMDNJ Faculty, Staff, Students and Alumni are invited to attend
The UMDNJ-School of Nursing invites the UMDNJ community to participate in a Dance, Walk & Chant to support the worldwide One Billion Rising (OBR) event to be held Thursday, February 14. The event coincides with the 15th anniversary of the V-day global activist movement to end violence against women and girls.
Beginning at 11:45 a.m. in the front lobby of the Stanley Bergen Building, participants will dance, walk and chant to demonstrate solidarity and commitment to the cause. From there, the group will travel to the UH Cafeteria and other spots on the Newark campus. To learn the dance and chant, click here.
An optional practice session will held 11 to 11:30 a.m. in Rm. 230/227 on the GA level in the Bergen Building. “As nurses, we see the outcomes of violence daily, and call on both men and women to unite in ending violence against women and girls,” explains event organizer and SN professor, Melanie Percy, PhD, RN.
