Green-Wood Cemetery

 DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO AUGUST 13.

 

Join Open House New York for its annual Summer Reception, a special event for OHNY members. Tours of the expansive Green-Wood Cemetery followed by a reception in the rarely opened catacombs.

Tour the verdant grounds to learn about the rich history of the site, its remarkable architecture, and the fascinating figures in New York culture who are buried there. Enjoy light refreshments amidst the greenery and explore the candlelit catacombs by torchlight. 

This event is open to OHNY members only. Admission is free but reservations are required.

The mission of OHNY is to promote a greater appreciation of the city’s built environment; broaden public awareness by exposing diverse audiences to distinctive examples of architecture, engineering and design; educate and inspire discussion of issues of excellence in design, planning and preservation; and showcase outstanding new work as well as structures of historic merit.
