Visit The Times' Olympic Printing Plant on Art Walk evening.
This is one of the best production plant tours offered anywhere. You will see high speed Goss Colorliner presses literally roaring as they print the next day's edition of The Times. You will also see laser-guided robots moving huge rolls of newsprint as if they weigh a few ounces. This tour fulfills a Scout requirement for a Communications merit badge. Ages seven and above, please. Soft-soled shoes are recommended due to slippery footing in the pressroom.
Photography is allowed, but we don't allow recording of the tour, and there is free, secure parking. Running time is approximately 1 hour, and the tour is disabled-accessible.
Only the first 60 people to RSVP will be allowed on the tour, so don't delay.
