The University Club
OCMBA offers the best professional networking in Orange County! This event will feature a brief presentation by Mark Kiesel of PIMCO on the global economic outlook from 7:00-7:30 PM for those interested.
“Go for Growth” Mark R. Kiesel of PIMCO
The global economy needs growth now more than ever. Global central banks have gone all in to help offset fiscal tightening in numerous regions in developed markets. Political leaders will need to work together in order to effectively address the global economy’s lingering fiscal issues and structural barriers to growth. In this environment, investors should focus on bottom-up research in specific sectors and companies that can grow significantly faster than their economies. Mark will share where PIMCO sees opportunities for investors to capitalize on growth despite a subpar global economic outlook.
Mark is a Managing Director at PIMCO in the Newport Beach office, a generalist portfolio manager, Global Head of the Corporate Bond Portfolio Management Group and a senior member of the Investment Strategy and Portfolio Management Group. Morningstar named him Fixed Income Fund Manager of the Year in 2012 and a finalist in 2010. He has written extensively on the topic of global credit markets, founded the firm's Global Credit Perspectives publication and regularly appears in the financial media. He joined PIMCO in 1996 and previously served as PIMCO's head of Equity Derivatives and as a Senior Credit Analyst. With 20 years of investment experience, Mark holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.
