OCEMA - April
Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM (PDT)
I recently attended the NHRA (National HR Association) HR Exec of the Year Award Event. During the event, CEOs were invited to speak about their respective HR leaders. It was gratifying to listen to these business leaders speak of Human Resources and share how the HR function plays a pivotal role on the executive team and in decision making for the business. This is exemplary of the transformation of HR into a strategic business partner.
I am very pleased to share that we have one of my favorite strategic HR leaders as our guest speaker. Jackie DeMaria, SVP, Global Human Resources at Western Digital Corporation will join us to provide an update on the organization, ongoing strategic HR initiatives, and the acquisition of Hitachi Global Storage.
Jackie DeMaria leads all human resources initiatives providing service to Western Digital’s 60,000 employees worldwide. Prior to joining Western Digital in 2005, she held positions as Senior Vice President of HR at EarthTech, a division of Tyco International; Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer at Overture Services, Inc., which was acquired by Yahoo; Vice President of HR at Mitsubishi Motors Sales of America, Inc, where she also held an operating role leading Mitsubishi’s 200 employee Customer Call Center; and Manager of HR for the Customer Solutions Business Unit with Southern California Edison. DeMaria Graduated with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from California State University, Fullerton.
Please join me in welcoming Jackie!
