Our one-mile ocean swim is a spectacular event for amateur & Masters swimmers and multi-sport athletes. This rectangular course has three left turns and one right turn, clearly marked by yellow buoys. Swimmers start on the beach, swim counter-clockwise around the first three buoys and turn right, at the last buoy, and finish on the beach.
A loop swim from the beach, through the surf zone out near the end of the pier and back.
Swimmers start on the beach, swim around the two buoys and finish on the beach. Must be at least 8 years old to participate. Registration includes a T-shirt, goodie bag, lunch, raffle entry, and access to all the day’s entertainment. All swimmers are required to wear the event swim cap provided at check in for safety. Trophies and Pacific Park passes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers in age groups 8-10, 11-13, and 14-16.
While, wetsuits are allowed, the use of flotation and or propulsion aids of any kind are prohibited, including swim fins and hand paddles. All competitors are required to wear a specific colored swim cap supplied at check-in for safety.
TIME LIMIT POLICIES
A cutoff time of 55 minutes for the 1-mile swim is strictly enforced. Swimmers who fail to make the cutoff time will be considered disqualified non-finishers. This cutoff time has been established to ensure the safety of swimmers.
