Oakland @ ZERO: Applying What We Know About Commuity Biomedical Prevention
Friday, February 7, 2014 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM (PST)
In recognition of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, SHERO is hosting 'Oakland @ ZERO: Applying What We KNOW About Community Biomedical HIV Prevention. This event is designed to be a discussion among Oakland's Popular Opinion Leaders to discuss where Oakland is with interventions like PrEP and Treatment As Prevention, almost three years after FDA approval of Truvada.
Have biomedical interventions made an impact, positive or negative, on your client base?
Are you seeing Doctors and/or Clinics prescribing Truvada for PrEP or TasP?
Do you understand how PrEP works and, more importantly, how it doesn't work?
Is PrEP truly an intervention for Oaklanders or is another great idea that is just out of our grasp?
Is it a realistic goal to work toward ZERO New HIV Infections in Oakland?
LET'S TALK ABOUT IT!!
Join SHERO and other fellow Oaklanders for a complementary happy hour cocktail and delicious appetizers as we join our forces to move OAKLAND to ZERO New HIV Infections. Bring your respectful opinions ... We want to hear them.
Space is limited so reserve yours today. If you have questions about this event or SHERO, please contact Nichole Little at Bayareashero@yahoo.com
