The HARC Research Farm tour focuses on the growing, harvesting, and processing of coffee, cacao and jatropha. This tour takes you from the field to a processing facility, and includes demonstrations and tastings.
Manulele Distillers and Kunia Country Farms
Aquaponics is an exciting and low impact method of farming that combines aquaculture with hydroponics. Learn more about this system and its numerous benefits through this tour, which includes a stroll through a lush plant nursery and viewing of fish / lettuce production. You will also see a demonstration of a cane juice extractor and have the opportunity to sample fresh-squeezed juice!
Oils of Aloha and Pa’ina Irradiator
Did you know that clinical studies have shown that kukui oil provides a variety of benefits to skin, including soothing dry skin and treating psoriasis? Learn more about kukui and macademia oil and how they are used to create a variety of products. On this tour, you will visit a processing center and see the production of high quality scented lotions / soaps. You will also learn about the irradiation process and how it supports local farmers.
- All tours are approximately 3 hours long and will be offered twice - once at about 9am and once around 1pm.
- All tours will depart from Aloun Farms via bus and transport participants to the tour locations.
- The cost of admission into the Aloun Farms Annual Pumpkin Festival is included in the price of the tour ticket (a $2 value).
- Each tour includes a "goody bag" with samples of products/souvenirs from your selected tour location.
