National Youth Pride Services kicks off the first of its series of regional meetings in Atlanta, GA April 26-28, 2013.
The weekend includes both private and public youth events, with the main workshop taking place Saturday morning at Evolution Project headquarters.
This conference is ideal for those under 25 who have a great idea for a project in their community but have had a tough time finding funding, resources and support. Several projects will be selected for seed mini grants.
In addition to workshops on the new generation and techniques for organizing black LGBT youth, this workshop is great for those who are youth leaders who serve in leadership positions over those near or around their own age, are looking to get involved in the movement (either with us or on their own), want information on what youth in other parts of the south are doing, and of course networking and collaborating.
We are excited to have Maurice Jamal of GLO-TV and other guests join us for this unique, intimate experience.
Registration is FREE, and open to all who live in the south. NYPS members register via our office. Non NYPS members register by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your name, age and state.
For housing information, you may also email us. You can inquire about the rate our members recieve ($109/night. Suite has sleeping space for 3, which comes out to around $35 per person)
A full scheulde of events and activities will be revealed via email, and on a conference call to all registered attendees in mid April.
Follow us on Facebook for our other regional meetings. (East Aug 9-11 in NYC, Midwest Oct 18-20 in Chi)
Note: This conference is intended to be small, engaging and to the point: quality over quantity. It is intentionally designed to be personal in order to have a greater impact when participants return to their home state. You will be in the presence of some of the best youth organizers in your region.
