The Hunts Point Library is pleased to announce its 2nd Annual College and Career Expo to be held Friday, October 14th, 2016 from 11:00am to 4:00 p.m.
The conference rooms will be used for Interviewing, Resume Critique and Financial Aid and Scholarship Q&A Sessions; this event represents a comprehensive approach to address the skills gap and prepare job seekers for openings that employers have now. Whether you have been helping us support our local community since its inception, or are joining us for the first time, you will find that this is an ideal networking and recruiting event.
Our Career and Educational Information Services Department (CEIS) has organized to match employers that have openings with job seekers who have completed one-on-one counseling, developed a professional resume and cover letter and completed other pre-screening activities in advance.
We recognize that all of us have been affected in some way by the economic downturn, and many of us know a family member who has lost a job. The purpose of this event is to connect job seekers with businesses that are hiring or plan to hire in the near future. We anticipate that the experience and education levels of attendees will be diverse. CEIS hopes to provide a “One-Stop” employment shopping experience for employers and potential employees alike.
Participating businesses will have an unparalleled opportunity to connect face to face with hundreds of local qualified candidates in a single day! The New York Public Library will be promoting the Job Expo widely through local media outlets, NYPL’s Website and via Social media. If you have a website, please feel free to include our information on the employment section of your site.
