The New York Medical Imaging Informatics Symposium is a great place to explore the best practices in medical imaging information systems including Picture Archive and Communications Systems (PACS), Radiology and Cardiology Informations Systems (RIS and CIS), speech recognition reporting systems, vendor neutral archives (VNAs) and the image enabled electronic medical record (EMR), clinical decision support systems, critical test result management system, medical displays and methods of image exchange. You can also learn the latest information about the rules of meaningful use of health information technology as they pertain to medical imaging, and informatics techniques to lower radiation dose. In addition to a gathering of first rate nationally recognized speakers, the meeting will have an extensive technical exhibit area for attendees to see examples of these systems first hand.

Dr. David Hirschorn
Dr. David Hirschorn is the Director of Radiology Informatics at Staten Island University Hospital and contributes to enterprise strategic planning at the North Shore LIJ Health System. He also serves on the American College Radiology IT and Informatics Committee, liasing with the FDA and other government agencies about Health IT software. Dr. Hirschorn is the immeidate former chair of the Informatics section of the RSNA Scientific Program Committee, and currently serves on the IT committee of the American Board of Radiology.
