NYC Makery Open House

New York, NY
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Come learn about the NYC Makery, a new pop-up Makerspace for youth and inventors of all ages.
We are a group of makers and educators who share a mission to create a community Makerspace, a safe venue where kids and families can make, tinker, and explore using the creative power of technology.
It can be very hard to find the space and tools to work on hands-on projects in New York City. The NYC Makery wants to provide a venue that is analogous to the suburban basement, or garage workshop. Except we will have 3D printers, a laser cutter, a CNC machine, and all sorts of other awesome digital fabrication equipment!
Our eventual plan is to host afterschool programming, weekend workshops, maker lectures, school groups and more.
Over the past five years, we have been popping up in community centers, art galleries, schools, basements, libraries, and even restaurants. We have learned a lot about best practices and how to setup and operate safe makerspaces for kids. Now we are ready to open a permanent space in the Downtown Brooklyn area.
Come visit us during this open house of our current mini pop up. Meet the founders and find out how you can help!
When & Where
Join our MakerSpace for Youth Inventors of All Ages
The Makery is a pop-up Makerspace - part shop & part workshop. A temporary venue where youth and adults are encouraged to be curious, to tinker, to experiment, and to make with technology. The Makery is a place where communities can gather to play with the creative power of digital design and fabrication, physical computing, and computer programming. In addition to workshops, we also create interactive events and installations for the public to explore. Visit our Pop Ups to check out what's happening.
Come Out and Make :)
