Please join GRAPHISOFT in New York City for our next ArchiCAD User Group Meeting! At this session, we will exchange ideas, ask questions and share our accomplishments with ArchiCAD and related BIM apps. We will present projects, share tips & tricks and provide the opportunity to network with other ArchiCAD users.
Douglas Muir, RA, BArch, will share his BIM design process and how he used ArchiCAD for a recently completed design competition submission in Taiwan. The project is a 60,000 sq. m. ferry terminal on the island of Kinmen in the South China Sea. The site is 520 m. long and is proposed to be the Taiwanese gateway to Mainland China – a building of significant cultural importance.
Muir made reference to major cultural buildings in Taiwan to design the project with a podium base, formal axial composition, an expressive roof structure, swallow tail eaves and saddle back ridges. The jury picks a short list of five finalists Friday, Jan. 24, so Muir will know if he is a finalist by the time of our meeting.
Doug has been practicing architecture in New York for over twenty years. His experience has included Healthcare, Education, Commercial, Residential and Cultural work. Skilled in all aspects of project delivery, he is now focusing on residential design with its great potential for high quality spaces. Doug has used ArchiCAD since version 6.5.
