Join the NTP Co-Leaders, DC Tri Masters Swim Coaches, and Sarah Thorpe (former Australian National Open Swimming Champion and member of the Australian Open Swimming Team) for a swim clinic that will go through the basics and techniques of swimming. The clinic will also go over a few drills for you to work on when you are swimming by on your own.
There will be 30 minutes of on-deck instruction followed by an hour of in-water work. Please be dressed in your swimming suits for the on-deck intructions.
The pool is located within UDC’s sports complex at 4200 Connecticut Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20008. It’s labeled “Building 47” (a.k.a. the “physical activities center”) on Google maps. The closest entrance to the pool is located on Yuma Street, above the tennis courts. Follow the stairs up to the building entrance. If arriving by metro, the closest station is just 3 blocks away (Van Ness/UDC) on the red line. If arriving by car, there is metered parking immediately outside Building 47 and ample, free neighborhood parking within walking distance from the pool (zoned for 3-hr visitor’s parking).
The main entrance to UDC’s sports complex (Building 47), must remain locked at all times. From 6:55AM until 7:10 AM, one of the coaches or co-leads will be at the door to let program participants inside. After8:10 AM, please call (202) 695-3720 to reach the coaches on deck. This is a central phone line that all our coaches receive.
Please sign up for ONE clinic only in order to give all NTP participants an opportunity to attend.
