The University of Akron is pleased to sponsor the state convention of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSHLA) on Saturday, October 11, 2014. This one-day, Fall conference will be held from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m at the majestic Quaker Square in Akron, Ohio. This year’s convention theme is “Succeeding by Leading” with keynote luncheon speaker, Mr. James Tressel. Attendees will include graduate and undergraduate students and faculty members in the field of Communication Disorders from eleven Ohio universities. A variety of lecture and small group professional sessions will cover host of topics such as telepractice, head injury, swallowing, pediatric stuttering, coma management, evidence based practice, and others.
Tickets for students are $25 online, and $30 on site (at the door). Tickets for professionals are $35 online, or $40 at the door. Registration fee includes free breakfast and lunch buffet, with ample free parking adjacent to the building. Registration and breakfast will be held from 8:00-9:00 am. Please bring your printed ticket with you to the conference.
Online ticket sales will close on Thursday, October 9, 2014, at 5:00pm. On-site tickets will be available thereafter.
