According to business strategist Sarah Robinson, building and sustaining a “fiercely loyal” community of clients, customers and raving fans is critical for success in today’s turbulent marketplace. At the NPC Communicators Breakfast on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 8 a.m., she will discuss the steps for making a successful community part of an organization’s business plan.
Robinson, the author of Fierce Loyalty: Unlocking the DNA of Wildly Successful Communities, has found that successful communities are more than just luck or an alignment of stars. Instead, they use a common set of building blocks – or what she calls “a secret DNA” – that organizations of any size can follow. The book placed #1 in the Best-Seller in the Customer Service Category and the Hot New Release in Marketing on Amazon.
Examples of “fiercely loyal” communities that Robinson found in her research include:
- Samuel Adams got its fans to crowd-craft a beer online.
- Surfrider mobilizes surfers all over the world to fight environmental threats to oceans.
- Running Room became the go-to runners’ community in Canada.
Nationally recognized as a seasoned business coach, strategist, advisor and speaker, Robinson has appeared on MSNBC, AOL, Entrepreneur.com and other leading business media outlets.
