Next lacpug meeting will be TUESDAY, Nov. 27, 2012 (Note Change of day) beginning at 6:45PM
- till we drop at the
Gallery Theatre in Hollywood Ca.

Join us for the last meet of 2012 as we welcome all of you to show your movies to all of us. Yes folks it will be...

“Show and Tell Night.”

Rules are this:

You got 10 minutes. If your short is 7 minutes you got 3 minutes to talk about it. If your short is 3 minutes you got 7 minutes to talk. We will try to get to as many as we can.

As usual we do not pre-screen. We trust in your judgment.

***No more submissions until I can sort through all who have requested time to show thier movies.***

Plus we will have another round of Stump The Gurus and of course, World Famous Raffle.

Also, we will kick off the campaign to raise funds for the new projector at this meet. It is unlikely we will actually have the new projector at this meet as it is very expensive to rent. We need to buy it, not only for us, but for everyone to use.

See you soon for the last meet of 2012. It’s YOUR show.

NOTE: lacpug generally meets every 4th Wednesday of the Month
Meetings are open to public and ALL beginning through advanced Digital Story Tellers are welcome

Agenda (subject to change)

6:45- 7:10PM - Stump the Gurus
Join Gurus
Philip Hodgetts, Michael Kammes, and the ever popular TBA as they will attempt to answer all of your questions and solve all of your problems concerning FCS and FCPX, Avid, Premiere Pro and anything else you can think of. If they can't solve your problem or answer your question, then you go home with a problem, but you still got out of the house, so that's not a bad thing.

7:15PM - 7:20PM - Welcome and Announcements
lafcpug sponsor AJA will give us the latest. Also if we have time, this is your time. Get up and tell us something about yourself. Ask for a job, offer a job. Whatever you want. Keep it brief. I also want to update everyone on the new projector and kick off the campaign to buy it.

7:20PM - 7:30PM - "On the Record: LA Vinyl" - Michael Garber
Mini-documentary made for the premiere of KCRW’s new blog site.

7:40PM - 7:50PM - G-phi
I'll be showing some of my youtube videos in which I demonstrate the usage of Cinema 4D, After Effects CS6, Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and Logic Pro. My website can be located at: youtube.com/gphiproductions and also at vimeo.com/gphiproductions.

7:50PM - 8:00PM - "Rebooting" - Unagriot
Every time I type in his name the app crashes, no matter what app, online or off, someone else’s computer or mine.

8:00PM - 8:10PM - "Cowboys and Indians: The Great Diversion." - Danielle Agnello
This short film, Cowboys and Indians: The Great Diversion, was shot in the desert at the El Mirage Dry Lake Bed with the temperature in the 100s. It centers on two Mexican day laborers who are confronted by an angry protest against illegal immigration, which results in an enlightenment of grammar and ideas. The film has been featured on the websites CROOKS AND LIARS and FIREDOG LAKE.
Director/producer Danielle Agnello is very pleased to share this short with you.

8:10PM - 8:25PM - "Blood Oath" - David Kiang
Born out of wedlock, 15-year-old Lucienne and her native Chinese mother struggle to survive amidst the squalor in the slums of London in 1891. She is a half-breed, abandoned by her aristocratic father who succumbs to pressure from his wealthy family seeking to distance themselves from the disgraceful union when Terrence had embarked in the employ of his father’s trading business to China.
When her mother takes ill and dies, Lucienne must fend for herself. But there are dark figures that roam the night and she falls victim to their blood-lust.

8:30PM - 9:00PM - Break
In the lobby will be many FCP, Avid and Premiere Gurus. This is your chance to ask questions. No questions? Then talk to each other. Also in the lobby will be Tery Williams and Christina Oliver from lacpug Platinum Sponsor AJAThe break is a chance to hang out and meet and greet and get your problems solved and who knows, get a job. You never know who you are going to meet at lafcpug. Snacks and Beer and Wine will be on sale in the lobby. Proceeds go to the Gallery Theater.

9:00PM - 9:20PM - "Just Seen It" - Cooper Griggs
Just Seen It is the half hour review show on PBS where film students, alumni and industry professionals review the latest in theaters, on TV and cable. Just Seen It started out as a web series in January of 2011 and has produced more than 400 review segments! 9:20PM - 9:30PM - "Outside the Box" - Antonio Scarpitta
Outside the Box is a web series presenting local artists and showcasing their unique talents and their original methods of creating art.  The goal of each 3-5 minute episode is to inspire others to think about the world in different ways.

9:30PM - 9:40PM - "Love Awkwardly" - Reid Nicewonder
A man distressed by an awkward life, attempts to score a date with a woman he was forced to fire.

9:40PM - 9:50PM - "Andie" - Paul Baker
A young boy who brings a doll to summer camp gets bullied.

9:50PM - 10:00PM - "Loch Scavaig" - Tony Fleming
This video is a brief excerpt from a much longer video documenting a trip made in a 65' powerboat from Southampton in England, through Scotland, to a circumnavigation of Iceland and return. The segment shows a dramatic anchorage on the Isle of Skye on the rugged west coast of Scotland. This kind of trip - lasting several months - calls for a solo effort. Other than a camera, the only equipment used was a bean-bag and every aspect of the production - with the exception of composing and playing the music - was done by myself. Camera was a Sony Z1U - after my Sony EX1R took a seawater bath delivered by a rogue wave.
