Northern Virginia College Access and Financial Aid Roundtable
Monday, September 23, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (EDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Join the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) and the office of Federal Student Aid of the U. S. Department of Education for a roundtable on increasing access to college and financial aid awareness for all Virginians. This free roundtable is directed to grassroots, faith-based and community-based non-profit organizations supporting the development of youth and/or adults in the greater Northern Virginia region. The goal of the roundtable is to partner with organizations in an effort to identify resources and pathways to increase postsecondary enrollment and FAFSA completion in the Commonwealth.
In the morning, learn about federal and state resources and participate in a facilitated discussion to generate suggestions and ideas for increasing Virginia's Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completion rate and other college access opportunities. Following lunch, receive training from Federal Student Aid staff on the FAFSA and hear about recent changes to the Application.
Registration is limited to no more than two individuals per organization and lunch is provided. The roundtable will be held in Rm. 158 of the Donald L. Bisdorf Building on the Alexandria campus of Northern Virginia Community College. Parking for the event is available in the Dawes Street parking garage (Level B-3).
The roundtable is funded by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia's College Access Challenge Grant Program (CACGP), a federal grant from the U. S. Department of Education.
