We had so much fun at our inaugural Northeast Florida Beer Cup last year we decided that if one is good, two is even better. The second Craft Brewing Celebration returns to the Florida Theatre on September 27 2012.
Thanks to the more than 400 partygoers who turned out for 2011 Northeast Florida Beer Cup on September 15, a fundraiser featuring the region’s top craft brewers serving a variety of tasty ales, lagers, stouts and more. The food was awesome, the beers tasty and cold and the venue gorgeous. Year two promises to be even better.
We have give a shout out to the night’s entertainment, Grandpa’s Cough Medicine, a homegrown 3-piece band heavily influenced by bluegrass, outlaw country and metal. The band played a devilish blend of blood and beer soaked originals along with hot pickin instrumentals. Perfect for drinking beer and eating barbecue, right?
The list of participating brewers and restaurants included Intuition Ale Works, Mojo #4, Engine 15, Sweetwater, Bold City, French Fry Heaven, River City Brewing Co., European Street, Hornsby’s Hard Cider, Green Room Brewing, and the Habeus Porkus barbecue pork bus. Yum! You guys are awesome. We’ll be bringing even more good eats in 2012.
Tickets are on sale now. Single admission tickets are $35, or you can purchase a group package, 4 tickets for $120. We will sell only a limited number of tickets (quality over quantity is what we preach at Jax Mag) and once they are gone, they are gone. Jacksonville Magazine Club members receive priority admission, so think of joining if you want to attend the Beer Cup and the many other fundraising parties we host during the year.
