The California Public Utilities Commission just enacted new regulations about interconnecting PV systems that have energy storage. The rules for net metering are affected. Come hear about these new regulations and their effects on the growth of solar in the state. Our speakers will also present examples of new energy storage technologies and applications.
Brad Heavner, Policy Director, California Solar Energy Industries Association (CALSEIA)
Brad has over sixteen years of clean energy advocacy experience with statewide and national organizations. He was the architect of the nation’s strictest state policy on existing coal-fired power plants, the Healthy Air Act, and led the campaign for Maryland’s law modeled on California’s AB 32. Before joining CALSEIA’s staff in 2013 he was working to support the development of Sonoma Clean Power and other Community Choice Aggregation initiatives in California.
Genevieve Dufau, Senior Policy Strategist on Customer-Side Storage, Electric Vehicles and Distributed Generation, PG&E
Genevieve currently analyzes regional policy strategies, supports and advocates for electric vehicles and distributed generation, and manages customer-side of the meter battery storage policy. She is transitioning to a focus the interconnection process for customer-side storage.
