The third annual Nora Searle Memorial Fun Run, to benefit Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, will be held this year on Sunday, October 2nd. With an 8:00am start at the Pine Hill Elementary School in Sherborn, MA, the Fun Run will finish at the Dover-Sherborn Regional Schools athletic fields, in Dover, MA. The 4.02-mile Fun Run winds through scenic, tree-lined roads, passes beautiful fields and historic farm houses, and crosses over the Charles River before concluding at the Dover-Sherborn Regional Schools campus.
This community event is an opportunity to remember and celebrate the life of Nora Searle, a life-long resident of Sherborn. An athlete, student and friend, Nora died in April, 2012, after a brave and graceful battle against cancer. She was 14 years old.
In addition to the extraordinary support of friends and family, Nora received care during her illness at the world-renowned Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. Dana-Farber will once again receive all proceeds from the Fun Run as both an expression of gratitude and to support Dana-Farber's commitment to the highest caliber of innovative cancer research and compassionate patient-care programs.

I'll be a runner... when/where can I check-in and pick up my bib?

Where, exactly, is the start and where is the finish of the Fun Run?
The Fun Run will start at the Pine Hill Elementary School, Pine Hill Lane, Sherborn, MA, and will finish at the Dover-Sherborn Regional Schools fields, 155 Farm Street, Dover MA. Here is a map that shows you the Fun Run route:
What are my transport/parking options for the Fun Run?
Parking is available at both the Pine Hill Elementary School in Sherborn and at the Dover-Sherborn Regional Schools in Dover. Runners are invited to park a car or bicycle at the Pine Hill Elementary School or the Dover-Sherborn Regional Schools and then coordinate to pick up their cars or bikes after the Fun Run concludes. Following the Fun Run, a number of friendly volunteers will also be available to shuttle participants from the Dover-Sherborn Regional Schools campus back to the Pine Hill Elementary School.
Will there be some of the traditional "swag" for runners?
Let's hope so! If you plan to run, please consider registering for the Fun Run by September 15th so we can be sure to have a t-shirt for you at the finish line. (Also, be sure to provide your t-shirt size when you register.)
Is there an email I can use to contact the organizer with any questions?
Click on "Contact the Organizer" in the "Organizer" box up and to the right.
Is the Fun Run open to participants of all ages and abilities?
Yes it absolutely is! Please remember, however, that participants will need to be able to cover a distance of 4.02 miles (at whatever pace is comfortable for each participant).
I will not be able to run on October 2nd; are there other ways that I can participate and support Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Fun Run?
Of course! You can register as a "Virtual Runner" or make a gift as a Corporate Donor or Individual Donor, and you will be participating in a meaningful way in the Fun Run as well as supporting Dana-Farber.
Is it possible to register for the Fun Run on the morning of the event?
It is, provided that you are prepared to use cash or a check for the registration fee. (Please note that, unfortunately, t-shirts may not be part of the "swag" for those runners, as we would like those who pre-register on-line to have first dibs.)
What if it is rainy on the day of the Fun Run?
Let's hope that is not the case... but the Fun Run will take place, rain or shine!
