Ninth AR Standards Community Meeting
Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 9:00 AM - Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 5:00 PM (EDT)
This is the ninth in a series of public and open community meetings.
The face-to-face meetings are designed to promote the discussion between stakeholders of the ecosystem for the development of open and interoperable AR content and experiences.
If you are a developer of Augmented Reality tools, a developer of AR experiences or publisher of information you would like others to see or hear synchronized with the physical world, there will be numerous benefits for you.
During the two-day meeting, you will work side by side with AR industry leaders and SDO Work Group chairs to:
- learn the status of activities and discuss progress in all relevant standards development organizations, including
- continue development of the community resources
- initiate development of new community resources, as needed, and
- discuss emerging challenges which may be addressed via standards or open source interfaces.
Augmented Reality developers encountering obstacles to reach and adoption as a result of proprietary technology "silos" will be particularly encouraged to attend in order to learn about the open specifications and APIs under development, and to provide your opinions. AR developers participating in the community are on the front lines to learn about and influence the direction of new tools.
